Emerald Ash Borer Solutions
Earthcare uses 100% organic methods of fertilizing and addressing common landscape issues. However, the Emerald Ash Borer represents a threat to our urban trees that can not be treated by organic methods alone. Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) is an exotic invasive insect from Asia that bores into ash trees and kills them quickly within two to three years.
Earthcare uses a syringe method of injecting a low-dose chemical into the inner layers of the trunk to kill the EAB larvae soon after hatching. This method provides essentially no exposure to you and your family while effectively preserving an important native tree. We will follow this treatment with Compost Tea and mineral amendments to the tree’s root zone to support its long term health.
